BOB JACKSON FOR PRESIDENT issued the following announcement on April 30.
Did you know that some courses include certain learning activities that could qualify as Service Learning? However, unless a course is formally designated as a Service-Learning course at MSU, students and others who are looking for Service-Learning opportunities at MSU might not be aware.
Did you know that your course could qualify as a service learning course if it includes the following?
Students working with community partners
Reflection component (i.e. journal writing, paper, group project)
Students applying what they learn in the classroom in the community
Join Shawna Thomas, Coordinator of Service Learning, in a short session to review the steps necessary to have a course designated as Service Learning, including a step-by-step look at the application process. This session will also include time to fill out the service learning application.
