City of Sturgis issued the following announcement on Oct. 21.
Election day is coming soon! As of October 20th, anyone who has not yet registered to vote for the November 3, 2020 election must now do so at their local clerk’s office; online registration or registration at the Secretary of State’s office has ended. For City of Sturgis residents, you must register at City Hall, 130 N. Nottawa. Township residents must register with their township clerk and should contact them for more information. City of Sturgis residents can register at City Hall Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. City Hall will also be open, for election related issues only, on Saturday, October 31st from 8am to 4pm.
You can check to see if you are registered at michigan.gov/vote. Until Friday, October 30th you can also use michigan.gov/vote to request an absentee ballot be mailed to you. City Staff encourages you to come into City Hall during the hours noted above to acquire an absentee ballot in these last days before the election. You may return your completed absentee ballot via mail, the City Hall Drop Box, or at the Clerk/Treasurer’s Office prior to Election Day.
As a reminder, if you wish to vote in person on Election Day, the polling place for all City of Sturgis residents is the Sturges-Young Center for the Arts located at 201 N. Nottawa. Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm. This is also where you should deliver your completed absentee ballot on Election Day if you have not previously submitted it.
