Burr Oak Community School District issued the following announcement.
The health and safety of our students and staff continues to be our first priority. It has come to our attention that one individual has tested positive for COVID-19 and another is out presumed positive. Please refer to the COVID-19 tracking chart (click on the box on the main page in the upper right hand corner) on our website for up to date numbers.
We cannot be 100 percent certain, but it appears that the individuals contracted the virus outside of school. We have followed the health department’s protocol to identify and inform close contacts. Additionally, we continue to execute proper cleaning procedures and follow strict mitigation measures in the buildings which allows us to continue on campus learning.
Per the Branch, Hillsdale, St. Joseph County Health Department risk assessment, there are zero student outbreaks reported between November 11-20, 2020.
If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Owens at kowens@burroakcs.org, but please keep in mind that we are unable to share the names of individuals identified and if your child was in close contact per CDC guidelines, we would have contacted you.
Keep in mind, COVID-19 does not discriminate. Please help us combat further spread in our community and our school by following the recommended guidelines.
