Sturgis Area Chamber Board of Directors endorses the City of Sturgis Street Millage

Megaphone gd7b38fb34 1280

In support of continued economic development and growth in the Sturgis area, the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce endorses the request of 3 mills for a 10 year period for the City of Sturgis. This is a dedicated millage to be used exclusively for street and sidewalk reconstruction, repair and improvement projects.

The SACC knows that good quality streets are a vital requirement for any successful community development strategy. It is a major factor for a business when choosing a location or to expand. High quality streets and sidewalks are critical for our employers

and people living in our area. Roads are our links to jobs, schools, medical care and much more.

While some progress has been made over the past 10 years, 37% of the City of Sturgis streets are considered to be in poor, very poor, or failed condition! This is unacceptable so let’s continue to make the much needed improvements!

We urge you to VOTE YES on May 3rd for the City of Sturgis Street Millage.

Thank you for your consideration.

Roxanne Persing, Executive Director, Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce,
