The City of Bronson is committed to providing safe and reliable drinking water to its customers. As part of the revised Lead and Copper Rule, the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) is requiring Michigan Community Public Water Suppliers to complete a distribution system materials inventory (DMSI). The inventory requires randomly verifying the materials of the service lines that meet criteria set by EGLE. Following EGLE guidance, the City has generated a list of services that meet this criteria and randomly selected addresses from that list. Those addresses are attached along with a map.
The City of Bronson has contracted with Plummers Environmental to perform this service line material verification of the selected addresses. Prein & Newhof is the City’s consultant inspection company for this project. Services will be scheduled for inspection starting in August 2022 and will be completed in August of 2022. The City secured grant funds for this project so the work is being done at no cost to you or the City.
You may also notice flags or paint marks placed on your property to stake out the location of your underground utilities (gas, electric, phone, etc.). The service line verification will include the contractor digging at a couple of points along the water service line to visually inspect the service line material. The work will generally occur within two weeks of the utility staking.
Thank you for your patience.
