Enrollment at Constantine Public School District decreased by 2.5% compared to previous school year

There were 1,310 students enrolled in Constantine Public School District in the 2022-23 school year, 2.5% less than the previous year, according to the Michigan Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 53.1% of them were boys, and 46.9% were girls.

Data also shows that most of the students were white, representing 87.6% of the Constantine Public School District total enrollment.

Constantine Public School District covers five schools within St. Joseph County with its main office in Constantine. Among them, Constantine High School recorded the highest enrollment of 400 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Overall student enrollment in Michigan remains below pre-pandemic levels, white students experiencing the largest decline at 6.5%.

Academic performance has also suffered, with the state's average NAEP score dropping by 6.5 points and ethnic achievement gaps widening. Black and Hispanic students' average math proficiency dropped by 7% in 2022, to 13.5% and 28.2%, respectively.
