“Congratulations to Dillon Donihue in obtaining Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout,” State Rep. Eric Leutheuser (R-Hillsdale) said in a post on Facebook.
Leutheuser was on hand for the recent award ceremony at Hillsdale College Dow Hotel and Conference Center when Donihue received the prestigious award.
It takes years of work and hours of public service to attain the Eagle Scout rank.

In addition, Donihue was also awarded the coveted Bronze Palm. The Bronze Palm represents the first five merit badges beyond the 21 required for the Eagle Scout designation.
“Your parents, troop and friends share in your well-deserved pride,” Leutheuser told the assembly.
Dillon is the son of Teresa and Tom Donihue of Hillsdale. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 174 in Hillsdale.
Leutheuser was elected to represent the 58th District in 2014, which covers Branch and Hillsdale counties. He is a member of the House Ways & Means Committee and has a bachelor's degree in political economy from Hillsdale College.
