The crew has restored power on the Village side and cleaned up countless messes

Electricity

Village of Union City issued the following announcement on Aug. 12.

After 3 storms over 41 hours and dealing with power outages for 26 hours - the crew has restored power on the Village side and cleaned up countless messes.

There’s still a lot of cleanup work to be done, but power is on and we’re sending these guys home for a bit.

We wanted to share this picture, which is lineman Dennis Shaffer on Chippawa Drive at the very end of a trying 2 days - still with a smile on his face. It’s emblematic of our entire crew from electric department, department of public works, Fire Dept, Police Dept and the office staff.

It’s been a tough summer but they’ve rolled with the punches and whatever is dealt to them - they come out on top.

We thank the community. We once again had a ton of support and kind comments and patient people. It’s makes tough times much easier.

If you’re still having issues of a non emergency nature, please call us during business hours tomorrow 517-741-8591.
