Sturgis Journal Michigan issued the following announcement on Aug. 21.
Notorious for devouring nearly any kind of plant life, the seven goats were turned loose July 12 at Plumb Lake County Park in Burr Oak Township. In five weeks, they have proficiently cleared almost three acres of non-native growth.
St. Joseph County Conservation District found an effective and relatively inexpensive way of managing invasive plant growth.
With grant money issued by Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the agency purchased a herd of goats this summer.
