The South Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (SAACURH)serves as the southern affiliate of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH). This student lead organization represents Alabama, Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. The Regional Leadership Conference is held annually at a school in the represented area. Representatives of these schools will come to Murray State and will participate in several activities, attend programs and and conduct organizational business while on campus. There will be approximately 400 to 450 students and advisors attending this conference.
The Residential College Association of Murray State is serving as the sponsor of this conference. We have a conference staff of student volunteers working on the conference. Ms. Casey Rowe, Assistant Director for Residential Education in my office, is serving as the advisor to this group. With this large group, several facilities on campus will be used and all spaces have been reserved. The main day will be Saturday, October 26, when the attendees will be 5 different educational program sessions which will offer 50 or more opportunities. There is an opening event on Friday night, with the bulk of the conference on Saturday. Sunday, October 27th will be check out and travel time for the groups in attendance.
