A long-anticipated virtual public hearing has been set for Tuesday, Oct. 27, which is aimed at discussing repairs and maintenance for U.S. Highway 12 in Coldwater, according to WTVB.

This meeting will discuss road work that is proposed to begin in 2023. The hearing is set to begin at 5 p.m. The project that is up for discussion would be turning the road into a three-lane road, as opposed to a four-lane road. The work would also include various improvements such as drainage work and sidewalk repairs.

The project is proposed as a result of safety concerns for pedestrians crossing the road. The main component is the pedestrian bridge, which engineers have found is no longer safe to walk on and cannot bear weight. During the meeting, attendees will be encouraged to ask questions and express concerns relating to the project. There will also be more information provided to the public, including the budget and scope of the work.
