City of Sturgis issued the following announcement on Feb. 1.
It’s Kick-Off Day for Sturgis Splash Pad Fundraising and we are looking for sponsors! All donations will be used to construct a Splash Pad and make other improvements at Thurston Woods Park like public restrooms, expanded parking, benches, and picnic tables. We are hoping to raise $160,000 in corporate and citizen donations for the project.

We will also be launching our Patronicity crowdfunding campaign starting March 1st. Between now and March 1st we are looking to raise funds from our local businesses to get within $100,000 of our goal. As part of the crowdfunding campaign, the Michigan Economic Development Corporation will match donations up to $50,000! We hope to make this the final leg of our fundraising.
